NATHAN NYKOR

Nathan Nykor is a pianist, composer, and teacher from Ontario, Canada. He specializes in Classical and Jazz, but has a wide range of interest and experience, from Baroque, to Flamenco, Salsa, Funk, Fusion, Video Game Soundtracks, and more.

His primary focus as a musician is composition. With various groups, Nathan has performed his original compositions at festivals in Ontario such as London Jazz Festival, Aeolian Jazz Festival, Sunfest, NXNE, and VenuexVenue.

Nathan also runs a weekly jazz/funk/soul/pop jam session, called Juice Jams, which takes place at The Poacher's Arms, a pub in London, Ontario. Here, Nathan shows his passion as a community organizer and educator. The jam is open to people of any skill level, background, and genre. It is truly accessible to everyone, and aims to foster musicianship skills, such as listening, playing in an ensemble, and improvisation.
